Since we share Vaatalya with multiple occupants, we like to ensure everyone has their own space. We’ll ensure your space is likewise respected in return.

We follow the Leave No Trace policy. This means you take back all your waste with you while leaving. Always leave the land in as good if not better condition than you found it. You can leave Bio-Degradable waste at Vaatalya as it organically decomposed in our waste units.

Very soon man will realize that money is something we eat, breathe or drink. So do all that you can do to preserve nature. Smokers do ensure cigarette buds go in the bins located at a stone throw distance from each other in our nine-acre mountain. We love nature and take the environment very seriously. Any littering or harm to the environment in any form will lead to immediate termination of your trip. Mother Nature thanks you.

What you do in your personal time is entirely up to you, but when staying at our place we have a strict no drug use policy. This is just the law… not so much one of our rules. Feel free to get high on nature naturally without the use of the substance.

The easiest way to disrupt an enjoyable stay is a plumbing problem. To prevent this, we kindly ask you to please place things like sanitary napkins and tissues in the bin. We simply want to ensure you have a royal flush kind of experience.

If you’re coming to the party you’ve picked a great city to do so. Unfortunately, just not at our place. Though we’re sure it won’t come to it, serious complaints of unruly behaviors or breakage will, unfortunately, result in you being asked to leave without a refund. Please don't break stuff, it's not that easy you know as you think to get a repair guy here or any stuff here. Not good for you. Not good for us.

Check-in is at 0200 PM, and check-out is by 11:00 AM. Arriving slightly earlier, or want that extra hour to sleep? Should be fine, but please check with us first.

We understand that accidents happen. But we do ask that you please let us know when they do. Chances are we can fix them as effortlessly as possible which also means better chances of you not being charged for the breakage.

We get a lot of non-smoking travelers, we also have a no smoking policy inside rooms, common areas, or washrooms, although you are welcome to smoke in the open area, without causing any inconvenience to anyone. Just ensure you throw the buds in the dustbins after smoking. Cigarette filters take 18 months to 10 years to degrade

To be considerate to the other travelers and animals in the forests, we kindly ask to keep things on the quieter side after 9 pm. And if you want to listen to music, please remember the other travelers and enjoy via headphones or in your personal space. We’ll make sure to reciprocate the favor. Unless it’s Bob Dylan. He’s okay to play at any time in all areas of the retreat. :)

We ask that you kindly respect our maximum occupancy policy in one room. We understand that for a whole variety of reasons, you may want additional guests to stay in the room/place. We’re reasonable folks and will accommodate wherever possible. However, we follow the triple bottom line framework & commit to focusing on social and environmental concerns just as they do on profits. The major portion that we earn from our travelers who stay with us is mostly spent on our sustainability research & social impact workshops. This is the reason we do not take heavy volume reservations to maintain a balance between people and the ecology of our space.

We love animals. Have a pet? Maybe a problem, not for us… but we are usually on close radar with eagles, vultures & leopards around the retreat. And there is a lot of open areas to run around for your pet to be controlled by you in a 48,500-yard mountain. Our 02 English Mastiff dogs at Vaatalya, also get a little territorial about the whole place as well. So, unfortunately, we do not allow pets.

Vaatalya is run by professionals. We are completely safe, transparent & reliable. The Hosts live at the retreat with 02 English mastiff hunting dogs. Reliable locals work with us. We screen our travelers before confirming their reservations. This is to ensure that only like-minded meet at a common platform gets access to Vaatalya. All these factors make Vaatalya safe for solo women & other travelers as well. Travel worry-free.

Notice the place, it's quite disconnected. We have the basic retreat hold stuff in place but do tell us anything that you would like us to arrange the way in advance so you don't feel the inconvenience of being away from the city on a mountaintop.

Please make sure you keep all your belongings safe. In any case, Vaatalya will not be held responsible for any lost/stolen/damaged items.

For the early birds in case you need tea or coffee, you already have a tea/coffee set up in the rooms. In case you need "homemade desi chai", do call upon us, we are all morning people & usually get up early. In case you want it even earlier because you want to picture the sunrise do let us know too, we'll see what best we can do.

In our mountain top retreat, we say sorry, we like to have fun, we like to say please and thank you, we give big hugs, we chase dreams, we forgive, we make mistakes, we give second chances and we say I Love you often.
